Citizens Help Dalton Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

Dalton Police Officers arrested a man Friday night, September 15, minutes after a robbery at the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant at 2131 East Walnut Avenue.

Dalton Officer Shaun Scott, who had just completed a traffic stop nearby, was alerted by store employees. Officer Scott radioed other officers, and a pursuit began after the suspect vehicle was spotted in the area. The vehicle's driver failed to yield to blue lights, driving at high speeds and making several evasive turns. The suspect abandoned his vehicle on Scobie Drive and fled on foot. Officer Scott pursued, and with the help of two unidentified males, took the suspect into custody.

The suspect, Arturo Rendon, Hispanic male, aged 23 of 643 Collins Road, Marietta, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. A firearm was located in the vehicle abandoned by Rendon.
