Recently, the Northwest Georgia Police Academy moved from its former location to Dalton. After 10 weeks of training in Georgia Law, firearms; accident investigations; emergency driving, and other areas, the inaugural class for the Dalton location will graduate on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. The graduation ceremony will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 300 West Waugh Street in Dalton.

The class includes officers from several law enforcement agencies throughout the Northwest Georgia region. Officer David Truesdale will be the first Dalton Police Department member to graduate from the academy since its relocation.  With the current class set to graduate soon, a new class has already begun, and includes four new Dalton Police Officers.

I heard the radio advertisment the blog this morning. I think it is an excellent PR device to get accurate information directly to the public regarding current public safety issues and how they are being addressed. The challenge will be to keep it updated and market it so that the public is aware and uses it. Thanks.
