Dalton Police Kick off "Click it or Ticket"
The Dalton Police Department's Special Operations Unit, along with the Situational Response Unit and Patrol Division will step up its efforts in enforcing Georgia's Seat belt and Child Restraint laws, in conjunction with the statewide "Click it or Ticket" campaign. "Click it or Ticket" will run from May 21st thru June 3rd. The first statewide campaign of the year will include the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday.
The current statewide seat belt usage in the state of Georgia is at 90%, the highest in the Southeast. During the year ending on December 31st, 2006, Dalton's seat belt usage stood at 94%. The Dalton Police Department is encouraging all motorist to buckle up and obey Georgia's Occupant Safety Laws, including Child Safety Restraints.
The Dalton Police Department will also conduct several road checks during the upcoming holiday, in an effort to spot unrestrained passengers and drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Dalton Police Department is asking all motorists to make this Memorial Day Holiday a safe one by obeying all speed limits, buckling up and to not drink and drive.
