Members of the Conasauga Safe Streets Task Force have identified, arrested and charged three individuals in connection with the murder of 16 year old Andre Johnson of Dalton. The murder occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on May 28th, 2007 at the Mini Super convenient store on 4th Avenue in Dalton following an altercation between the victim and offender. Other persons with the victim and offender were present during the altercation.
The arrests came just 24 hours following the incident and the investigation involved more than 200 man hours not including the time spent on the investigation by the patrol and support services division.
The three individuals charged include:
- Jose Chavarria, 17, of Dalton
- Bruno Sanchez, 19, of Dalton
- Edgar Hernandez, 20, of Dalton
Chavarria and Sanchez were both charged with Murder (party to the crime) and violation of the Georgia Street Gangs Act. Hernandez was charged with Murder and violation of the Georgia Street Gangs Act. Hernandez has been identified as the person responsible for the shooting death of the victim, Andre Johnson.
