As part of the police department's effort to redeploy patrol officers, the agency is planning to increase the number and frequency of traffic checkpoints. Residents are reminded to always buckle up, properly restrain children, and never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The summer months tend to bring more motorists out, and the department is striving to keep the roadways safe. The department asks for citizens' patience and understanding during this effort.
