School Bus & School Zone Awareness

With local schools back in session, the Dalton Police Department reminds drivers to be aware of school buses and school zones.  Under Georgia law code section 40-6-163 it is illegal to pass a stopped school bus.  If a driver is caught doing this, they face a hefty fine of $677.00.  Also, fines for speeding in a school zone are doubled.
