The Dalton Police Department is seeking information about a man who broke into a vending machine at Turbo Tire at 401 South Hamilton Street on December 13th. The same man may have also broken into other vending machines in the area, including a theft that occurred the same night at the Bearden Laundry, 101 West Gordon Street, which is approximately 3 blocks away.
At approximately 4:00 AM, the surveillance cameras at Turbo Tire recorded a black SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango with stock wheels and a white sticker on the back windshield pull up to a drink vending machine in the parking lot. A white male wearing a coat with a hood and a baseball cap got out and walked up to the machine, and then looked up at the camera. The man then got back into the SUV and the vehicle backed out of view of the camera. Then someone moved the camera so it pointed away from vending machine. The machine was then broken into. Approximately 5 dollars was taken.
In the incident on Gordon Street, someone cut the metal bar and padlock off of a drink machine located outside of the Bearden Laundry, possibly with a bolt cutter. The machine was broken into, with an unknown amount of money stolen.
The images below were captured by the surveillance cameras at Turbo Tire of the suspect and suspect vehicle. If you have any information on these crimes, please contact Detective Matthew Locke with the Dalton Police Department, 706-278-9085 extension 320.
