The Dalton Police Department Chaplains' Toy Drive was a big success on Friday, with citizens dropping off dozens of toys and gifts for children at the GreenHouse.
Chaplains Don Treick, Ray Camp, and Thomas McCrainie braved freezing winds to stand in front of the Police Services Center from 10 AM - 2 PM on Friday, collecting the donations from citizens in the parking lot. By the end of the Toy Drive, the over-sized box for donations was nearly overflowing with gifts, some wrapped, some unwrapped.
The GreenHouse is a child advocacy center in Dalton serving child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse in Whitfield and Murray Counties. The GreenHouse offers a variety of services to help child victims and their families, including free counseling and forensic interviews. The Dalton Police Department's chaplains have started the annual Toy Drive to help ensure children at the GreenHouse will have a happy holiday season.
The Dalton Police Department and the Dalton Police Chaplains thank everybody who helped to make this toy drive a success.
