Tuesday night's National Night Out Public Safety Fair was a big hit in Dalton, drawing more than 400 people to the North Georgia Fairgrounds for food, fun, and sunshine. Outback Steakhouse provided free hot dogs to early visitors to the event, and all public safety agencies on hand distributed important safety information to visitors. Also, there was plenty of fun for kids. The Whitfield County Fire Department's Clown Brigade handed out big red clown noses to kids, who also got a chance to see "Pluggie", the Dalton Fire Department's robotic red fire plug. Kids also enjoyed jumping around on two large inflatable play grounds.
Representatives from the Dalton Police Department, Whitfield County Sheriff's Office, Dalton Fire Department, Whitfield County Fire Department, Whitfield County Emergency Medical Services, and Whitfield County Emergency Management were on hand to meet with visitors to the fair. Amerigroup, the Department of Human Resources, and Safe Kids Dalton were also on hand to meet with the public.
