The Dalton Police Department responded to a report of an attempted robbery at the Wachovia Bank on South Hamilton Street at approximately 1:10 PM on Tuesday afternoon. Minutes later, officers with the DPD’s Bike Unit arrested John Kish shortly after he attempted to rob the Wachovia Bank on South Hamilton Street Tuesday afternoon. Kish, who was not armed, surrendered without incident.
Kish, 40 years old of 519 West Hawthorne Street, handed bank tellers a note demanding money. When he didn’t get money quickly, he left the bank on foot without any money. He was arrested by officers only a block away near the intersection of Cuyler Street and Pentz Street.
The first officer to respond to the bank arrived on scene between approximately 40 seconds and a minute after the call went out from dispatch, which was around 1:10 PM.
