UPDATE (7/12/11): Garcia-Jacobo has surrendered to authorities at the Whitfield County Jail and is in custody.
The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Ulysis Garcia-Jacobo, 24, who is wanted for stealing a large amount of cash from a local restaurant in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 12:45 am at Los Caporales, located at 603 Fleming Street in Dalton. Garcia-Jacobo, a regular customer of the restaurant, was the last customer in the restaurant when employees began to put together cash for that night’s bank deposit. The money was left unattended on the counter, and employees later discovered it was missing. Surveillance video clearly shows Garcia-Jacobo walk up to the counter, look around the room to see if anyone is watching, and then take the money and leave the restaurant.
Garcia-Jacobo is described as a Hispanic male, 5’10” tall and weighing 170 pounds. Witnesses say he has several tattoos, including a tattoo on his right arm with two skulls and the words “Laugh Now, Cry Later”, the letters “SUR” on his left arm and an unspecified tattoo on the left side of his neck. A prior booking photo of Garcia-Jacobo is included below. Witnesses told investigators that he often drives a white Cadillac Deville with 22” rims.
